New photo and data documenting coating thickness gauge for car experts
The new CarCheck System PLUS from Automation Dr. Nix allows for individual expert and testing reports of highest quality thanks to the integration of original photos.
A novel testing and documentation system developed in close cooperation with experts by the German company Automation Dr. Nix provides a yet unknown freedom of coating thickness measurement.
The new CarCheck System PLUS consists of a handy gauge for use on location when testing the car and includes user friendly PC software.
The PC software enables the user to freely configure the gauge according to his or her needs and to archive all data. Testing reports created with this system are particularly meaningful thanks to the photos of the car and the overlaying coating thickness values.
The conclusiveness of these reports is not only important when buying or selling high value vehicles or vintage cars but also during legal disputes with insurances or even in the court of law.

The expert can freely select the testing areas and take almost limitless measurements in an individually specified testing order.
Using the proven CarCheck PLUS configuration and documentation software, testing jobs can now be created easily and quickly and transmitted to the gauge by wireless transmission. In addition to predefined standard testing areas, individual and customized testing areas are also available. The freely specified order in which the testing areas are displayed in the gauge corresponds to the testing order defined with the PC software.
Thus any car expert can depict his individual “round“ around the car by way of the testing order chosen. Every coating thickness value measured is saved and transmitted back to the PC for analysis and documentation purpose via wireless transmission.
Car assessments as well as accident and testing reports can be created either in PDF, Word or Excel format in a mostly automated manner according to predetermined standards or in a highly individualized form including car photos and overlaying measurements.

The handy CarCheck PLUS gauge also provides an integrated memory for saving measurements. These measurements can be allocated to certain testing areas, such as the fender or engine hood, directly while taking measurements during a job – that is the measurement of a car.
The number of measurements per job and testing area is freely selectable. The small and light CarCheck PLUS gauge is perfectly suited for measuring coatings with a thickness of up to 5 mm on metal. Thus, it is also possible to distinguish between standard coating, repair work of small paint damage or unusually thick layers of filling and to document the findings with original photos.
Such image and data documentation, as is now possible thanks to the CarCheck System PLUS, is also recommended by the German Institut für Sachverständigenwesen e.V. (Institute of Expert Assessment). In their „Leitsätzen für Gutachten und andere Sachverständigenleistungen“ (Guidelines for Expert Reports and Other Services of Experts) they provide principle for high quality expert reports.
Automation Dr. Nix developed their system in cooperation with experts through practical experience and tailored it for everyday use in car expert companies. However, as specific as the CarCheck System PLUS has been adjusted to the needs of car experts just as flexible it is too: with freely selectable job and testing area names, the system can easily used for many different testing tasks such as commercial vehicles or even tasks outside the car industry.
The time saving and flexible use of the new CarCheck System PLUS in everyday applications reduces the costs borne by users and clients alike. Furthermore, it improves the competitiveness of testing companies. In addition, thanks to transparency and expressiveness of the new quality expert reports, it provides users with a certain advantage in competency even during legal disputes.
